Herbst 2024
Sprachreise nach London
London Trip from 5th to 9th August 2024 – Memories from the Advanced English Classes
This August, we embarked on an exciting trip to London, where we got the opportunity to experience British culture first-hand. The journey was packed with memorable moments and exciting experiences.
After our flight from Leipzig, we finally made it to the UK, greeted by our host families. Staying with them was not only comfortable but also a cultural experience, offering a glimpse into daily life in London.
One of the highlights of the trip was exploring London’s famous landmarks. From the towering presence of Big Ben to the iconic Tower Bridge, the sights we had only read about in books came to life. A city tour and hop-on-hop-off buses allowed us to visit Camden Market, Borough Market, and historic sites like Kensington Palace. A visit to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre let us experience the literature on another level, while the Natural History Museum fascinated us with extinct creatures. Despite the crowds, the free museum was a favourite for its diverse exhibits.
For food lovers, Chinatown was a must-try. Additionally, the Waterloo Graffiti Tunnel gave us insight into London’s thriving street art scene, a place where creativity is celebrated.
If there’s one thing we learned from this trip, it’s to be prepared! From walking what felt like a million steps a day to navigating London’s unpredictable weather, sturdy walking shoes and an umbrella became our best friends. The trip wasn’t just about sightseeing—it was about learning to adapt, appreciate different cultures, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
